The wizard is literally a circus performer salesman, he should be the most hammy and insincere person to ever exist

It’s really strange to see a movie so colorful and yet dull at the same time. I don’t know how to describe it, even with technical descriptions. Like… the sets and the commitment and detail and obvious fun and opulence of it is there, and then it feels like they tried to turn down what they made.

Casting Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard and then NOT letting him be campy is criminal directing. The man was the Big Bad Wolf in Fairytale Theater's Three Little Pigs!

Your problem with Wicked for Good is that every scene is played with the same amount of gravity. So you think they should have tried defying gravity?

one major thing i had a major problem with was that the wizard of oz movie was SUCH a celebration of color, being one of the first movies to actually be in color. i just wished that wicked could pay more of a homage to that and could not be the sad beige mom of an adaptation :(

i thought “Girl In The Bubble” was the only new song they had written for W:FG, but knowing that “There’s No Place Like Home” was also a new addition written for it makes so much sense in hindsight. i remember watching Elphaba sing that song and wondering why it sounded like something from a Hallmark christmas movie, instead of a Broadway show. it really sticks out like a sore thumb in the movie’s soundtrack in my opinion.
