I always said that if I ever lost my job (I'm a supervisor for NYC subway), that crane operator would be the first thing I'd apply to. They are always in demand, and it is a job that requires skill, which is what I look for. That looks awesome.

Stop making it seem to be difficult---it's repetitive, but very stressful---it takes total awareness and skill to make each lift and have an free day. The operators are like any other operator---the more you do it, the better you get---can't come to work with a hangover!!! I've worked with many operating engineers of heavy construction equipment (50yrs) some are naturals and others need much guidance------the more years they operate the better they get---I've had operators of large excavators (50ton+) scare the hell out of me because they were so good---they became part of the machine---OUTSTANDING!!!!!

Your eye sight and depth perception needs to be spot on ! <br> Drug screening required for these guys !<br> The logistics from raw materials to a finished product and transportation and everything in between is mind boggling !
