I've overnighted in an unheated truck cabin -36C. The warm clothing is somewhat obvious, only you want to dress slightly warmer than if you were moving around in the same temperature, because your body temperature drops when you sleep. Something I found essential was finding a way to breathe warmer air without stuffing my nose into my warm clothing (rapid carbon dioxide buildup). A limited supply of cooking gas meant I saved it for heating the cabin the morning, besides the carbon monoxide and condensation problem burning it off in a confined space causes. I stuffed the cans of gas inside my coat to keep them from freezing (cold butane is nearly useless, it freezes the gas regulator). Consider that I survived the night in the automotive version of a bathroom, minus the water pipes. It can be done, but this AI isn't lying, heat sinks like uninsulated steel, concrete, porcelaine and terracotta are horrendous heat thieves. Glass is just as bad.

Haha move to phoenix, we barely dipped into the upper forties a few days last yr at night. Every year our winters shrink.

Fireplaces work just fine. Hell a gas stove with the oven door open will heat a kitchen and living room. Just crack a window. You apparently ain't been poor much lol.
