  Brief corrections: Genichiro isn’t infested and didn’t crash out without a plan. He actually had a contingency for literally everything you did. You try to run with Kuro? Ambush you. You beat him because you’re immortal? Be immortal yourself and Get the black mortal blade. You find a way to beat him still? Revive Isshin because who tf can beat Isshin?

  The monks didn&apos;t fail. They were experimenting on children and only one survived. They successfully copied the dragon heritage but they used countless innocent children in their experiments hence the fact that Isshin hates the monks and their depraved ways. Genichiro was not infested,he used the rejuvenating sediment which was different from the centipede infestation. He had a &quot;fake&quot; dragon heritage

  During the Sengoku era, wars broke out. Isshin Ashina starts a revolution and defeats General Tamura, along with Lady Butterfly, Owl, Sekijo the orangutan, and Gyobu. Isshin adopts an orphan named Genichiro and trains him. Sekijo saves a child named Emma, who was then adopted by his friend Lord Dogen to be his disciple. Owl adopts a child and trains him, engraving the importance of the &quot;Iron Code&quot; in the child&apos;s mind. He would then be known as Wolf. Later on, Owl would command Wolf to be a shinobi of a child named Kuro, the divine heir. <br><br>Back in the Hirata Estate, Owl, along with the bandits and the Ministry, orchestrates an attack against Hirata during the Dragonspring Pilgrimage, where every warrior of the Ashina would be away. At the same time, Owl sends Sekiro somewhere to prevent him from interfering with his plans. He takes Lady Butterfly with him to kidnap Kuro. During the original bell, the memories are a little hazy. Owl died &quot;fighting&quot; for Hirata. We go on and fight Lady Butterfly, only to be stabbed in the back by someone and be given impure immortality by Kuro before he is taken. <br><br>3 years forward, we see a distraught Sekiro, consumed by guilt of his failure, to protect Sekiro. He lacks the will to live - Until Emma comes and drops him a message from his Master, Kuro. He goes on and rescues Kuro, clearing out the path and reaching the secret passage, where they both intend to leave Ashina. We see Genichiro there to take back Kuro, and use him and his body to attain immortality and push back the Ministry&apos;s attack once and for all. Sekiro defends Kuro, but to no avail, as he gets his arm sliced off, passing out from blood loss.<br><br>Sekiro then wakes up in a dilapitated temple, with his wounds tended and his a,m; now with a prosthetic, thanks to the Sculptor, who took him as he could not bear to see Sekiro be eaten by a pack of dogs. He then finds out that Kuro is still alive and held prisoner back in Ashina, due to his heritage of immortality. Sekiro then proceeds to save him, defeating Gyobu and the Raging Bull, both of whom were the Ashina&apos;s main line of defense. We basically caused Ashina to be more vulnerable to the Ministry&apos;s attacks. We can also meet the Tengu of Ashina, hunting &quot;rats&quot;. These rats are of the Senpou Temple and of the Ministry. Those with bamboo hats are of the Senpou Temple, of which the Tengu despises as they take children for their experiments, and those purple-cloaked ninjas are of the Ministry, spying. <br><br>We then meet Genichiro again, on top of the Ashina Castle. We can see him asking Kuro to grant him immortality, which Kuro declines. We then fight Genichiro, who is equipped with Tomoe&apos;s lightning. After we bested him, we approach Emma, where they both witness Genichiro&apos;s &quot;resurrection., Emma then mentions Genichiro taking in the Rejuvenating Waters, we then witness his red eyes, stating that he would not mind shedding his humanity to defend Ashina, before jumping off.<br><br>We then meet up with Kuro, who insists on cutting ties with immortality. He then seeks our help gathering 3 ingredients: the Mortal Blade, A Flower, and a Stone. This is to reach Fountainhead Palace, to gather the final ingredient, the Dragon Tears. &nbsp;First, we take in the Mortal Blade, located in Senpou Temple. The Senpou Temple and its monks became corrupted; they abandoned their holy practice in search of immortality, sacrificing countless children, with only 1 being able to survive and was hidden away. On the way to the Mortal Blade, we battle a knight whose son has fallen sick and was taken in by the Senpou Temple, with the promise that his child will receive the &quot;waters&quot;. We then find out that his son is Robert, the owner of the firecrackers in our prosthetic tool. These &quot;waters&quot; are the Rejuvenating waters, which stem from the Dragon&apos;s Blood and flow from the Fountainhead Palace to the Mibu Village, and down the Senpou Temple. We then witness Centipede monsters coming from Monks, these are the side-effects of prolonged use of the Rejuvenating waters, one loses sanity, centipedes spawn from within, and one&apos;s body gets ruined. (Those who drink the Rejuvenating Waters don&apos;t become &quot;pure&quot; immortal; instead, they&apos;re able to withstand lethal blows, but will not heal) Sekiro then reaches the temple, rings the bell, and faces the 4 monkeys: see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil, and do no evil. After overcoming the monkeys, Sekiro then meets the Divine Child of Rejuvenation, the only survivor, who then hands him the Mortal Blade, only after telling Sekiro that the blade cannot be unsheathed. Sekiro dies as he unsheaths the blade, but comes back to life, to the Divine Child&apos;s surprise. <br><br>We now proceed to the Flower, which is guarded by the Guardian Ape. A giant ape whose neck is stabbed by a sword. The story suggests that this ape is the one that killed Kingfisher, Sekijo/Sculptor&apos;s friend. After defeating the first phase, we then witness the ape coming back to life, indicating that it too, only have the impure immortality. We then get the flower. In the Mibu Village, we&apos;ll witness corruption, where everyone has turned into zombies, immortal town folks but without their sanity. We then fight the appartion of a corrupted monk, after besting him, we get the stone. <br><br>After gathering these 3 ingredients, we go back to Ashina, only to find the castle being attacked. We proceed to the Ashina Castle, only to witness OWL, who has came back to life, seeking Kuro&apos;s blessing of immortality, of which Kuro declines. We then get a choice of whether or not we obey Owl and capture Kuro. Not obeying him will cause us to fight him, defeating him puts an end in his ploys. We then meet up with Kuro, who assigns us to take Dragon&apos;s Tears in the Fountainhead Palace. We go back to Mibu Village, where we get inside the wedding cave and be taken by the Giant Straw Doll to Fountainhead Palace. This is where we&apos;ll meet Nobles and Okami Warriors, after reaching the peak of Fountahead Palace we&apos;re transported to the locaiton of the Divine Dragon, where we defeat it by lightining reversals and taking its tears using the mortal blade.<br><br>When we go back to the Ashina Castle, we&apos;ll see that everything has fallen. The ministry has started their attack, deeper in the Ashina Castle. We also find out that the Sculptor gives in with the hatred inside him and completely succumbs, becoming the vessel for the Demon of Hatred. Back in the Ashina Dojo, we find out that Isshin has passed away and that Kuro has been taken by Genichiro. We then proceed to the secret passage, where we meet Genichiro for the last time, now wielding the Black Mortal Blade, the twin of the Mortal Blade, able to open gates from the underworld and bring someone back to life, presumably, immortal. We defeat Genichiro, which then offs himself to summon the now-dead Isshin Ashina. He summons him back in his prime, of which he believes, is the Ashina&apos;s final card. We defeat Isshin and cut his ties with immortality using the Mortal Blade. We then tend to Kuro, give him the dragon&apos;s tears, and ends his life on his wishes. <br><br>NOTES NOTES NOTES<br><br>There is only 1 pure way of immortality, that is the true Dragon&apos;s Heritage, which Kuro has. It prevents him from bleeding and dying.<br>He despises the thought of immortality for the following reason: He believes that it corrupts man, making them greedier. Second is, they can only have what Sekiro have, an impure version of immortality that spreads Dragonrot everytime he uses resurrection, which drains the life force of people not affected with Dragon&apos;s Heritage, causing them to die off, slowly. <br><br>The other immortalities are false immortalities: Sekiro&apos;s immortality causes Dragonrot.<br>Rejuvenating Waters causes the centipede growths, body death, and insanity. The rejuvenating waters runs from the Fountainhead Palace, &nbsp;the waters are linked to Dragon&apos;s blood, prolonged use causes the said backlashes. <br><br>The Giant Ape also seeks immortality for its mate. <br><br>The Sculptor, was once a very formidable shinobi. He was known as the Oraguntan, he fought along with Isshin. He enjoyed battles, killings, so much so that Shura was seen in him, before he falls to its grasps, Isshin cuts his arm off. Later on, Lord Dogen would spend countless attempts in making the perfect killing tool, the Shinobi Prostethetic Arm. Sekijo, though grateful, would later find the tool useless. Despite escaping the grasp of Shura, he has this hatred inside of him still, lurking, he would then spend his years carving off buddhas to atone for his sins, and distract him of his violent tendencies. <br><br>A story I&apos;d like to believe is that he lets the Demon out, to defend Ashina from the Ministry.
