  I have had the pleasure of sailing in waves in a norse replica, and the best way to describe the way the hull interacts with the waves by flexing is that it feels like it is slithering throughout the waves. You can literally watch the boat flex over each wave, retaining more contact with the water and thereby being much more stable.<br><br>At the time I thought this was probably why the norse referred to their own warships as &apos;serpents&apos; and often adorned them with snake heads at the prow.<br><br>Completely different from sailing a carvel (butted planks, as opposed to overlapping) wooden boat of the same size. &nbsp;It&apos;s not all good though, apparently they leak a lot more, and you have to almost constantly recaulk the seams.

  As a Swede who grew up in a place that translates to &quot;Thor&apos;s Landing&quot; I have always been a bit interested in the old Viking and Norse culture. This was very well presented, interesting and engaging! Well done!
