  When my father died of cancer my sister started crying about all the times she canceled lunch or time with our father. Before that my brother berated me that I will miss dad when he is gone. They didn't know that I knew I had all the time I was gifted with our father behind me. I never canceled on him. I was the first one he called when he needed help. And when he was dying with cancer, I was in his chair at the office saving everything he built. The only conversations we had after his diagnosis was about the company. I had all I was going to get. And years before this time I said to him, "I don't know how much more time I have  with you." And he told me, "I know you love me. But focus on building a life."  So I left "home," crossed the sea, met my wife, had children. They never got to meet their grandfather, but they grow up on his stories. This song makes me remember the mistake I did not make. And I am so grateful.

  At 66 and father of 3 girls, I’m brought to tears with empathy for the feelings this song brings.  I willingly made the sacrifices along the way so my girls could have quality of life as self-sufficient adults.  I’d love to have more of their time now that I’m retired, but they are living the lives for which my sacrifices were made in the first place.  We live for our kids without expectation of repayment.  Be joyful for the time they can give us.

  I lost my daddy in May of 99 and those of you who have them here and choose to do this you'll regret it I was only 16 but my daddy was my world and I miss him every damn day

  While listening to a Christian radio station, the speaker encouraged that everyone should write their parents a letter, thanking them for all that they did. My parents like many others were not perfect. But when I looked at all the pros and cons the pros far out way the cons. My mother had already passed, so I only wrote it to my father, but I can say it was the best thing I ever did! I listed everything i could remember to thank him for all that he did.  jUST DO IT!!!!!!  You and he will be blessed!

  My grandmother took me in at 6 weeks of age and raised me.  I think my mom and dad loved me.  Just not enough to put their wants and needs aside long enough to raise me.  We had a relationship but it wasn't really a parent/child relationship.  They were more like an aunt and uncle.  We were in an OK place when they passed.  I'm at peace with it.

  My 3 kids have ghosted me.This Song hits hard. Im now traveling around the country and it's helping thru God's grace. Please God help us ALL
