Matt Barnes is a real one for protecting Kobe's legacy, people wanted to tear it down after he passed. Not surprised KB would go out with Matt. Kobe loved his teammates as long as they were willing to give effort and work hard.

Kobe's prime was 75% during the Dead Ball Era AND playing in the hardest era of the Western Conference.

Add in he played through injuries most of the time too and his career should NEVER be disrespected the way it has since he died.

Everyone knew MAMBA but only a few knew KOBE! What a privilege for Matt! A true brother for protecting Kobe’s legacy!

Fun fact: when Kobe scored 81 points he had 53 points through 3 quarters (scored 28 in the 4th). 1 month before that he had a game against the Mavs in which he scored 62 through 3 quarters. If he played that 4th quarter and scored 28-30 points that’s a 90-92 point game. Kobe was really capable of scoring 90 points it’s crazy to think about. Not to mention eras, he would 100% be capable of 100 points nowadays. But as much as I wish Kobe played that 4th quarter vs the Mavs in ‘06, I have so much respect that he didn’t want empty stats (game was already a blowout). He told his assistant coach Brian Shaw he’d do it when it’s needed, 1 month later drops 81. People say this man was selfish, but he put his own stats aside when the win was secured.

The way Matt talks about the LAKERS. They just had a different aura back then. Bron killed that aura. Bron going on every podcast emphasizing how he got out of the FIRST ROUND this year. 5 of his 8 years with the Lakers, he couldn't get out of the Western Conference First Round. Bro, you're SUPPOSED to do that.
