If anyone is interested, in the 3rd to last story about the haunted asylum, the facility in question was called Foxboro State Hospital, and was/is located in Foxboro, Massachusetts (I live near by). It did indeed meet its end the way the story told, and now it is a shopping area, general business, and yes, a portion of the old hospital was indeed turned into apartments. It was a very controversial move back in the mid 2000's, and did actually ruffle locals feathers. But, as the story said, Foxboro need the money revitalizing that area would bring. The hospital has really cool history behind it, I recommend anyone to research it. Cheers!

The mushroom on the porch was a gift or offering. You should offer one to them in return.

If I had a beer for every time I've heard "it was like the forest was holding it's breath" in a scary story I'd just straight up be dead twelve times over.

Mushroom story is so cool. I wish some rare and unknown to public science forest entities would drop off gifts for me. I would be so honored, albeit terrified of the unknown

I notice every story most people want to run and don't. It's one of the reasons people survive to tell the tale. Never run from anything predatory (other than actual people). Running kicks in the prey drive of animals AND the...other "things" that we share our world with.
