  Ive been buying DIY books, cook books, herbal books, self help books etc, at the Goodwill Bins. They are only 50 cents each, well worth spending on to have information when the internet goes down on us.

  I'm Brazilian and my work is restoring vintage audio equipment, hi-fi receivers, tuners, tape decks, reel-to-reel, turntables, and so on. Here in my country people still value these things a lot, especially in my age (millennial here). I'm proud of my work because I help to keep alive these old technologies, and everyone that uses vintage equipment for the first time, feels a huge difference from the new gadgets. The comments I usually hear from my clients are always the same: "Wow, this sounds like it's alive, the audio is incredible!" or "I didn't know these old devices were so good!" or even "I didn't know listening to music on vinyl was so cool, I never want to go back to Spotify."

  I will own my physical books, dvds, vhs tapes, cassettes, cds… and I will be happy.😂 We still have the stereo setup my husband purchased in the late 80’s, complete with the 3’ speakers.😅

  The "new technology" is one reason we hunt out appliances that are NOT "smart" or "wi-fi enabled".  I've recently been transferring photos from "the cloud" to a hard drive in my house, with plans to create printed albums very soon.  Also - BOOKS!  I cannot wrap my head around reading books online, so I prefer the ones in physical print.  So our "spare room" is our library.  We, as a family, prefer the physical media and virtually analog appliances.  My husband and I grew up growing some food, but we've dived into growing a larger portion of food, preserving the harvests, hunting (and preserving those harvests), and sourcing "rare" (historic) survival foods to grow and nurture, just in case.  We are including our adult children in all of these things to at least show them what's possible, even working around technology or incorporating it slightly in some of our activities.  We also have a "no technology" policy at family meals and have at least one day a week that is "game night" of card or board games, which helps us connect as a family and get away from screens for a while.  Thanks, Gubba for kind of letting us know we aren't too "weird" for preferring the older ways.

  I started buying up CDs again last year, and re-bought my old MP3 player brand new in the package on eBay a few months ago. Love it.
