  I used to teach science camps for 8-year-olds and I’ll never forget the time I saw a kid walk up to another one and say, “Do you wanna play Poppy Playtime?” and without waiting for a response he just screamed full force while waving his arms in the kid’s face. The other kid immediately launched into a sobbing fit due to being huggy wuggy jumpscared IRL<br><br>I had to very gently explain to a very confused child that maybe you should check with your friends before screaming in their face while desperately trying not to laugh at the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.

  I love when an otherwise mediocre kids franchise randomly decides to be utterly devastating. Like, there is no reason for a dumb looking playdoh man to make me so genuinely upset, but the way he&apos;s this whirlwind combination of scared kids is so damn tragic. That final monologue actually really got me, the oldest kid saying he&apos;s &quot;never good enough&quot; while surrounded by the bodies of kids who relied on him, &quot;gentle voices lie&quot; from a child who was almost definitely abused even before Playtime, and then the youngest kid who wasn&apos;t even meant to be there just screaming and sobbing that he wants to go home. That is genuinely WAY too rich and complex and well done for an otherwise incredibly average series lmao

  Idk if someone&apos;s already commented this, but I&apos;m decently sure that Baby Ludwig (the child that became Poppy) was adopted well after his divorce—that&apos;s why Ludwig opened an orphanage and encouraged his employees to adopt. So, she probably wasn&apos;t 30. There&apos;s so many details to the lore that I don&apos;t know her exact age, but I&apos;m pretty sure she was still a kid.

  I love how Playtime CO, on the verge of bankruptcy or whatever, chose not to stop building ridiculous extensions to the building, produce toys that children actually want, maybe defund the giant orphanage or, if they truly wanted to be evil, use their army of orphans as regular child labour, but chose instead to produce giant, grotesque versions of their own toys for slave labour using said orphans. Giant slave toys which apparently still need to eat and sleep like a regular person would and which are multiple times the strength of regular people too.
