The first time I saw David Gilmour was in October of 1987 outside of Washington DC at the Capitol Center. We sat up front on his side of the stage, they were touring the album A Momentary Lapse of Reason. I could not take my eyes off his hands and that strat he played, I was mesmerized. I went home and within a week I bought a guitar and began teaching myself to play, nearly 40 years later I now teach others to play and it all comes down to one night in October 1987.

I hope he goes back on tour. If he does I'll travel and drop as much as I can on a front row seat. Or 2nd..😊

As I often tell my guitar students, "the best painting isn't the one with the most brush strokes".  And so it is with David Gilmour, who expresses so much with so few notes.
