How to Choose Authentic Joy instead of Toxic Positivity | S2006

In this episode of the Inspired Speaker Podcast, Danielle Benzon sits down with Tif Loeffler, host of Positively Yours, to explore what it really means to choose a great day—without ignoring grief, stress, difficult emotions, or the realities of life. Tif shares her journey from years of wanting to start a podcast to finally making it happen, along with powerful lessons about stepping outside your comfort zone with the right support, building emotional fortitude, staying present, and rejecting toxic positivity. Together, Danielle and Tif discuss grief, joy, humor, self-care, authenticity, and the small daily practices that help us navigate difficult moments while still making room for connection, play, and genuine happiness. Highlights: Having a great day doesn’t require everything to be good—it can mean allowing yourself to experience meaningful or joyful moments alongside pain. ● Getting out of your comfort zone works best with support. ● There’s a big difference between authentic positivity and toxic positivity. ● Small daily practices can build emotional resilience and fortitude. ● Joy and grief can exist at the same time. ● There is no single “right” way to live, grow, or express yourself.
