  Don’t really care what anyone says but if you went to high school in the early 80s you could hardly find a desk that didn’t have the Van Halen wings carved into it by a prior occupant. And half your school books you had issued.  And I went to a pretty nice high school of 1500 students.

  The best part of Nuno's interview about Eddie was cut short. He goes on to say that after he handed Nuno his guitar, Eddie was hunched over his pedal board make a few tweaks to the sound. Of course Nuno wanted to impress Eddie, but he wasn't sure what to play so he started to bang out the solo from "Get The Funk Out" and when he got to the tapping section of the solo, Eddie looked up at him and said..  "Hey, Hey!.. None of that silly stuff".  That completely threw Nuno for a loop because at that time, shortly before Nuno met Eddie, he was asked in a guitar magazine interview his thoughts on two hand tapping and Nuno responded with..."I just feel it's a silly thing to do, and besides, that's Eddie's thing".  Nuno could not wrap his head around the fact that Eddie was reading up on him before they met. Some years later, after Nuno got closer with Eddie, he outright asked him about that interaction and Eddie confirmed that he had been reading up him... Talk about humbling.

  One wall in my homestead is kind of a shrine to Ed. I'm 71, and, not that it didn't happen in the past, or that it won't happen in the future, he literally, in his time, changed playing rock on a guitar. Forever grateful.

  When he passed, I was amazed that it did dominate the news all over the world. To this day, I feel like we are missing out since he isn't here.

  What strikes me is how generous, open and magnanimous he was.  He really enjoyed meeting and hanging out with other guitarists.

  Eddie Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, Brian May, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Neil Giraldo, Neal Schon.... man were we blessed with the best of all time.  Thank you guys!

  There was guitar before Ed, and then guitar after Ed. That's how important he is in guitar history.

  That guitar solo on Beat It (MJ) was off the charts…. And he did I it on the fly! “He was in the area and dropped by”!

  I was lucky enough to see Eddie live and I can tell you that the audience stopped moving, or breathing, and would just stare in awe!!!

  My one and only man crush😊  The first VH album was out in 78, I was 11 years old.  I bought every album they released after that.  I literally grew up to Van Halen music.  It was one of the saddest days of my life when he died.  I mourned for a week.  I still mourn even now😢
