Hi Darran, like you said..you're motorhome is a ferreday cage.! The way you put up all the arrials now on the router is getting the signals in from outside..and sending them streaght back out. So you need at least 1 or 2 white arrial provided by the router attatched on the modem to have good signal inside! 1 for the cellular broadcast inside..and 1 for eather the 2,4ghz or 5ghz wifi data.. Get it ??😉 Greetings from the netherlands.

I have had that router for the last 12 months. I also replaced my M1 for this. Very happy with it. I can now get a signal at music festivals where the M1 had no signal... 👍 Powering it I just bought a jack plug with tails off Amazon and made a cable up to a cigarette plug... Works great

I use a 12v voltage stabiliser in mine to power it, works great.

I found this interesting even though I am not at all technical .

The bit about the cable sounds similar to my experience with
charger cables and fast charging.I went through quite a lot of charging cables until I found a stronger cable .

I love your enthusiasm! :) I can really recommend VHF 3M heat resistant tape, it sure will hold in the sun. :) I have had my solar panel on the roof on my daly driver car without no problem fastened with VHF tape from 3M.

Based on this, I have purchased a GL-3000 to replace my Netgear 5G, which is absolute rubbish and will not work without an external antenna, and still drops out. I am pleased to report that the GL-3000 is 100% better, and I could not be more pleased with it, in terms of ease of use and speeds, using the same EE 5G Max unlimited SIM card with the router in the same position. Looking forward to getting on the road with it. Thank you!

that usb cable will not have the amperage needed to support the router, thats what is causing the issues. Get a 12v cable and wire it directly to your onboard power system I would with a switch inline be able to isolate it.

As others have said below, your wifi antenna is now outside the motorhome. So you will have great signal outside but not so great inside! You might get away with it because you are so close to the antenna but something to consider. A little wifi access point connected to the router inside the van might help you get better signal inside.
