Why is the Banshee a Corvette in GTA VC and VCS? Simple, the Viper did not exist in the 80s as its first generation was in 1992.

I'm guessing Rockstar based the Banshee in Vice City on a Corvette because Vipers weren't around in the '80's.

The Dodge Viper didn't come out until '92. That's why in Vice City/Stories it is based off the Corvette.

Technically the Sentinel XS is also in GTA 4 but not as a separate named model, just a variant with STD body customization and Sentinel XS badging

I've noticed a fundamental difference in GTA V compared to the older games most of them were a mishmash of other cars meanwhile in GTA V most vehicles are a direct copy not being really a mishmash of both
