It's strange to think that more time has passed since Jumanji was released then the amount of time Alan spent trapped inside the game.

Wait. Someone talking about mental health while it not being an ad. You’re a real one for that Alex. Don’t get much of that anymore.

The boys in the intro weren't scared of the wolves bc that game had put them thru horrors unimaginable by mortals. That was nice foreshadowing to how scary the future events were gonna be.

I can't remember if the movie clearly states why the town is so rundown. But it's because the shoe factory was a major source of jobs. When the factory closed because Alan's father was lost to grief, other businesses followed. No jobs=equal no tax revenue=rundown, poor communities.

33:16 "How the fuck did they film this?" is exactly why practical effects will always trump CGI

No one will see this, but—Robin Williams was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease with Lewey Body Dementia before his suicide. The disease is incredibly cruel, and Lewey Body means that he was suffering not only physically, but also battling intense hallucinations and psychosis. For Robin especially, I cannot imagine the pain and loss—worsened with the guarantee that his disease would worsen steadily until death (there are nearly zero effective treatments). I wish people would talk about Parkinson’s as much as they do mental health and suicide.

Fun fact: the actor playing the hunter is the same actor playing Alan's father, and hunter was chasing Alan in jumanji for 26 years, so we can actually think its kinda symbolic.

39:18 Judy and Peter's parents died on that vacation to Canada in the future Sarah and Alan lived while playing Jumanji - that's why Alan and Sarah were freaking out. By making the parents work early they were preventing their deaths.

It’s kind of implied with how frightened Alan is when he reads that the hunter is coming that Van Pelt was probably hunting him in Jumanji, also the line of makes you feel just like a child and him looking like his dad, both characters are played by the same actor, that Alan was kind of afraid of his dad

My favorite scene in the whole movie is Peter running to get the ax out of the shed only to find the shed locked so he picks up the ax and takes a couple of swings before remembering why he need to get in the shed to begin with
