  I still believe that The Butterfly Effect is the movie where Ashton Kutcher showed his greatest range and greatest performance of his career

  My take:<br>Romantic ending: shows Evan has learned nothing. Satisfies sentimentality, but at the cost of showing growth. Overall undermines the general feeling of the story even if it provides karmic justice for Evan. <br>Fetus ending: consistent with the tone of the movie, but ultimately a very nihilistic resolution that feels like a cop-out. It seems to imply that Evan was somehow cursed, and there is no payoff to his sacrifice other than a few glimpses of his friends&apos; lives being better. <br>Ambiguous ending: shows Evan has learned from his experience, understands what he gave up, and has completed his arc. He&apos;s given another opportunity to tamper with fate with foreknowledge, and he resists. It provides the audience with hope for the characters while still maintaining the dark tone. It was balanced in all the right ways.<br><br>One way or another, phenomenal film by incredibly talented people.

  I didn&apos;t know that the womb scene was the original ending but I always prefered it because it fits the movie the best. Especially because Kutcher&apos;s movie mum earlier said something&apos;s about repeating miscarriages. I immediately new during that ending scene why she had miscarried before all the time - her former unborn childs just went through the same as Ashton&apos;s character and also comitted suicide the same way to make it all stop! &nbsp;Haunting but perfect ending!!

  I remember thinking I could not take this movie serious with Ashton Kutcher in it, but it turned out to be a really great movie.

  The Baby ending - Changed the whole story! there were 3 other time travelers!<br>When the Mom said: &quot;Before You were born, I was pregnant 3 times, but they were stillborn...&quot; and &quot;No, Not Again!&quot;<br>so all 3 siblings had this power!<br>we already knew that Evan&apos;s dad had this gift, and Evan inherited it, and they both messed up trying to fix everything,<br>but 3 siblings unborn?? They All had this time-traveling gift, <br>3 siblings all had the same life story of finding out they had the power to time travel, then all three of them decided to go back to the time before birth,<br>all 3 siblings sacrificed themselves one after the other before Evan was born<br><br><br><br>this is why this ending was the best, also a future movie about all the siblings would have been possible

  I&apos;m really glad my first viewing of The Butterfly Effect was the DVD version with the original fetus ending. After watching the alternate endings, they all felt underwhelming by comparison. The original ending had such a powerful shock factor that I found myself thinking about the movie for days. That&apos;s the kind of film I appreciate most - the ones that linger in your mind long after you&apos;ve watched them.
