Good video. My comments.

1. Health/longevity- spot on, especially the point about the utility of $1 at age 62 vs later in life.

2. Sequence of return risk - a valid point but avoidable in 2 ways if delaying. First, you can only withdraw from fixed income and second you can just start collecting SS since a decision to delay can be changed at any time.

3. Spousal coordination- true unless collecting early impedes the ability to do Roth conversions or harvest capital gains in the zero tax bracket.

4. Trust fund uncertainty- my opinion is any reduction will impact everyone the same but yes if you collect a few paychecks before the cuts you may have received some extra.

5. Tax coordination - this is why I am delaying to age 70. Since 15% of SS is not federally taxable and zero in my state I want SS to be a larger % of taxable income later in retirement when my tax rate is higher. I project paying 50% more on other income vs SS (30% vs 20%). Also delaying gives me 8 years to harvest capital gains tax free.

Most people need to file at 62. Let me explain why? I have been wt my job almost 25 years. In that 25 years I have seen a lot of people retire. Most of those people that retire at 65 or older lived a year or two at most after they retire! Why work that long then retire and only get your social security for a year or two. Just my two cents
