Why I Left Buddhism for Christianity ✝️

  I was born and raised in a Buddhist family (also watched 一休 before😂). My mum would burn incense, give offerings, like what typical Buddhists would do. During my secondary school, one of my friends invited me to a church camp and I went. At that point of time, I couldn’t fully understand but I felt God’s presence and love throughout the camp, I cried when they played worship songs. On my way back home, I asked my mother whether I could turn to Christ. She got so mad and strongly opposed that. I didn’t know how to pray, but I just closed my eyes and just talked to God. As I grew older, my desire to become a Christian is getting stronger, I continued to pray to God. Few years ago during covid, my mum suddenly asked about Christianity, she started to explore Alpha course, and decided follow Jesus❤. We prayed together, and we started to see miracles. God moves, in ways that we couldn’t imagine. Just believe and trust him. Hallelujah, glory to God.

  I have a similar story. I was a born hindu, turned atheist as nothing made sense to me, and later saved by Christ.

  I am Buddhist, but I don’t see it as a religion. Buddhism helps me stay positive, peaceful and loving. I think anyone can adopt Buddha’s words while following other religion, it will help you become the best version of yourself!

  I'm a therawada buddhist from sri Lanka. I have never even heard of anyone in my life practicing buddhism the way you did. Sounds so suffocating and so far away from the reality of buddhism. The buddhism you explain in this video sounds like another religion to me. Like all the buddhas, gods, devils, the female buddhas I have never heard of these. I have seen them in museums and stuff but I have never thought of fenshui as buddha. As someone who reads everything, from bagavath getha, bible, quran, i have never found them to be deep and meaningful (to me) as the thripitaka. And girl, monk life is different from us, we don't strive to be that, that's unnecessary pressure, we are allowed certain domestic rights. Like sex, families, love, even lust is there for domestic people as long as you're not hurting anyone. And even meat is allowed as long as you don't kill or its not killed for you specially its fine. Whatever you practiced sounds horrible and suffocating. I wish you specify your branch of buddhism. Like is it zen or chan or mahayana. Don't just say buddhism and say things because it can be misleading. To me it has been about undestanding buddhist philosophy, cosmology and meditation. Don't know where all the other stuff came from. I'm a little offended even. I have never felt so calm and present and protected like when I'm in the temple of the tooth. And no one in therawada buddhism is trying to become buddha.

  I was Buddhist, yet the Lord took a vested interested in me and now I follow Lord Jesus. I'll never stop praying for my wife to know him, too.
