He doesn't just talk the talk. Since this song, he has supported the homeless through significant donations to build support centers and hospitals for the unhoused, including a $5 million gift for London housing and a $175 million project for a U.S. school/hospital. He also backs specific charities like Centrepoint and directs his touring experience to support local homelessness. Wherever he toured his touring act partners with local homeless charities in each city, raising funds through merchandise sales for the homeless.
Unlike the AI generated stupid stories of late, these are real actions from verified news organisations.
I like him as a Jazz Rock Fusion Drummer all the way back in 'Brand X' and rarely like his solo work, but the man has principles I identify with and has shown time and again he's a proper human being. Total respect.

He used to encourage concert goers to bring donations for the homeless during this song in concerts. My mom and I were able to attend a show in Philadelphia, and we took a ball cap full of rolled quarters. When I took the hat up to the stage he stooped down to take it from me, and almost fell off the stage (he wasn’t expecting a ball cap to be heavy). During his break he had his road manager bring me an autographed photo as a thanks.

You are very wise for your age. Open minded and aware of the injustice in this world. Don't change!

70 year old Boomer who gratefully got to see majority of these groups live. You honor us all by demonstrating ALL music lovers have a place at the rock/metal table.

I worked with mentally and physically handicapped adults for 22 + years! You soon realize how one moment or one quick accident can leave you helpless and in need of others to help you! Please don't ever take that for granted!😞

Phil Collins' Another Day in Paradise came out in 89' became a #1 hit and won Grammy Record of the Year. David Crosby does the backing vocals. It was the last #1 of the 80's, from the album But Seriously... Phil walks the walk--at various concerts on the Serious Tour, he raised awareness of homelessness and has given millions through the years behind the scenes to various charities. ❤

As a pianist, you’ll enjoy Bruce Hornsby and the Range. “The Way It Is” has similar themes to this.

Prince- Sign of the Times. He was the first to sing about AIDS. Prince also addresses many things like homelessness, single moms, etc…
