  Just got mine up and running this week  All I can say is wow!  This is my 3rd laser so the learning curb was not too bad. Totally impressed with this machine, I have the dual.  The air filtration was well worth the money.

  The 40 watt diode is great for wood.  I have the F1 ultra with a 20 watt diode.

  I got my F2 Ultra Dual Laser in December 2025. I absolutely love it though it took some research outside of xTool to understand the MOPA features better. I have had the F1 OG for 2 years and for what it is and within its capabilities its a nice hobby laser. The F2 Ultra has definitely stepped up my game big time. I do a lot of different materials so I chose the Dual F2. If you have the cash it is well worth it. Just know it is NOT an Industrial laser and it never claims to be.

  Do you need to treat/coat the steel blade after you engrave it to prevent rusting? What do you use?

  I see alot of small time knife makers hopping on this laser train rn.<br>Im kind of fizzzled on the whole &quot;our product is cnc engraved!&quot; scthick. Maybe its on account of fact that i am not old enough to have lived in a world where at one point everything inscribed has to be done by hand. Laser engraving is starting to feel cheap, well because it its now. Am alone in thinking this?<br><br>Using super fast and easy laser engraving as a value added step where you as a maker can profit $200/hr of machine time for a dirt easy process is great and all, but to me i see it as a sign that a maker is trying to upsell me. When looking at stuff made by artists and small time makers, I generally avoid most stuff where the gimick is that its custom laser engraved, it kind of gives off a lazy impression the same way advertising using AI art does.<br><br>Obviously at higher volumes this becomes a non issue bc the goal is Production, so taking the time to laser etch something becomes a nice touch, again. Im mainly talking about people working in small numbers and one off customs where the point is that artform of it. I see those folks using laser engravers alot.
