I’m a young 67 years old. Started playing in High School but never really progressed. I got serious about things within the last 5 years and found a great online teacher. I would say I’m at stage 4 and never dreamed I’d get as far as I have. I would encourage older players to not give up. This video really hit home with me and how I’ve progressed. I’ll never be an expert, but I’m really happy and proud of how far I’ve come. Great video!

Wow. The only person who can seem to drum up a inspiring title. Almost every guitar YouTube teacher has “Here is why you suck at guitar” or “Here’s why you will never get good at guitar”. I applaud you, sir!

I wanna cry. All 5. I’ve been going to lessons for years. And I resonate, honestly, with all 5. I suspected it. I thought it might be coming. And it is.

Thanx for this video. I first picked up the guitar at 58, I'm now 66. I love the process of learning and slowly improving. I practice 2-3 hours most days. Happiness is a guitar in every room. : )

I'm in my early 60s, learned to play some folk songs, Beatles, even a little Zeppelin, but, real life kicked in and I barely touched my guitar over the next 30 plus years.
Saw an ad to build your own electric guitar, went for it and it reinvigorated my love for guitar. I had to start almost from scratch and now I am well beyond where I could have imagined.
I found a looper to be incredibly helpful in my progress, it sharpens your timing and allows you to explore the fret board at your own pace.
We are lucky to live in age where people like yourself are willing to use their experience to offer straight up good advice and encouragement. Thanks man

you'll know you're on the path when the phone rings on Friday night and a voice says, ' Hey, Darrell, are you working tonight?'

So this is 5 times watching this so far!! 😊😊😊 Rob your point of loving the process is really quite powerful! I am there with practicing. It's very therapeutic, for me, to pick up my guitar and get lost in the process. Nothing good ever comes easy for most of us, but it is so worth it to press on towards the high mark. Like training horses. Loving the process is the greatest joy cuz training horses is a continual process of love for the animal and yourself. The trainer who told you learning guitar and training horses had similarities was right on! Enjoy the journey everyone! It's priceless!! ❤❤❤
Paul

I've been playing (learning) now for 15 months, I can't believe that anybody sticks with it, it is sooo hard. But, for some strange reason I just keep at it, I love the challenge and I will NOT quit. Nice Vid. 🤘
