Long story short: play clean, play slow, control strings, leave space, know your root. Thank you for this video

I am 75 and have played guitar since I was 12 years old. Took about 25 years off so today I sound like I have been playing for 3 months. At 12 I did learn chords and played a bunch of chords that I had no idea of the chord names like 9ths, 6ths, diminished........I played by pattern and sound. Huge mistake. I now find myself learning all over again. Videos like yours are a great learning tool for this wanna be guitar player. Not interested in playing for anyone but myself. Just trying to get better.

I’m gonna have to buy you a beer one day because ever since I discovered you almost a year ago I’m doing things I never thought I could do. Can’t wait to see the next year!

A huge thank you from Italy for such mellow, wise, and spot-on advice. I’m 53, and my kid started jamming on the electric a few months back—he’s totally inspired his old man to get his hands back on the strings.

I used to be a bit of a casual strummer back in the day. I just had a luthier do a pro setup on a solid acoustic I own, and I picked up a simple but 'honest' Tele-style axe to start finding my way around the fretboard again. I’m a total sucker for those bluesy tones. I’m definitely gonna take your tips to heart—thanks a ton!

50 years ago I heard Blue Jean Blues for the first time. I was blown away. To this day that’s how I play. YouTube has made guitar playing seem like if you can’t shred you suck. What you’re telling us right now is pure truth. I’m subscribing. Space, feeling and playing from your heart is where it is. Thank you for doing this for all of us. I can’t wait to dig into your channel!!!!
