Great stories and as far as Kramer I used their guitars exclusively through the 80's and into the 90's. Kramer guitars were amazing and if I ever had a concern about one of my instruments I could get one of the techs on the phone immediately they were amazing.

I heard someone describe Eddie's soloing as falling down a flight of stairs and landing on your feet...pretty accurate I thought.

It's funny when it happens that way, "If it was anybody else". Happy to hear that it worked out well for you. But, too bad that guitar has to go up for auction. The memories.... the memories are priceless

My side of the story,...My best friend was friend of Mark Von Beck who was in band Q5 "with" Floyd Rose in Seattle. Jimi Hendrix tribute band Randy Hansen offered me a bass audition in 1983-4, Randy Hansen demo'd Floyd Rose whammy to EVH! Ken Warmoth went to my brother's wedding. Warmoth was Boogie Bodies in early stage. So no big deal, Edward was a prick to a lot of fans in the early days.
