I can’t believe you haven’t noticed it the last 10 years minimum. It’s a uniform of hoodies and leggings.

Thank you. I love fashion and I live in NYC. I feel like I'm getting an education. And I totally agree with you about couture.

Diane, thank you for your point of view. It shows an independence of thought that is lacking in the fashion world today. Alas, the heavy hitters such as CNE take up so much oxygen in the room. It’s a challenge for newer voices to be established and heard. This is not a personal attack, on any one executive or magazine title. But we know the deal with these behemoth publishing houses: it’s Pay to Play, All the Way! But I do believe that the JG x Zara collaboration and hiring will pay dividends for customers, in terms of better quality and fabrications. I was a regular shopper at Zara in NYC, up until my last trip to the city in 2017. And you are right, the quality was much better back then. Thanks for the background details on Zac Posen’s mercurial rise through fashion’s ranks. I’m a fella in my 67th year and love retail therapy, too. 💁🏻♂️🌹👋

Gucci is down because of who they choose to headline their brand. As a horse gal I have always loved Gucci, but this is where I draw the line. Just disgusted by the brands lately.

How long are people going to keep dogging Galliano- he was a drunk drug addict, he apologized. We give ACTUAL CRIMINALS more grace and forgiveness

Dearest Diane, Your commentary on fashion and insightful recollections of fashion history are simply brilliant. I adore you and the wealth of knowledge you present and share with us! BRAVA!❤

I cannot understand the hate you describe, which is so prevalent. I am unable to appreciate the beauty Mr. Galliano created as I did prior to after his unthinkable rants! I agree; not only is this Met Gala theme inappropriate, if ever it was going to be done, should have happened at the height of his career prior to any anti-semiotic insolent. I believe the Met Gala has exceeded its relevance, and like the demise of brick and mortar stores, will end. Perhaps Ms. Wintour is attempting to redeem Mr. Galliano on her way out?!
“BEAUTY IS AS BEAUTY DOES.”- Chaucer

I believe bricks and mortar shops will come back eventually as people begin to tire of shopping online. It is convenient, yes, but how often do we order something we like the colour of which turns out a different shade, thanks to our wonderful computer monitors! This has happened to me too many times. And packaging! You walk out of a store with a carefully wrapped garment with its own carrier to protect it. Some online brands are brilliant at packaging, but Lilysilk is not one of them. I ordered a pleated skirt knee length. I am not kidding when I tell you it arrived in a paper envelope that you could just about squeeze a jumper in. It was very creased when it came out of the bag. These are just two of my pet peeves about online fashion shopping and I am sure there are a lot of customers like me. Bring back the 3D shop!
