The reason South african police were suprised that British police were still working an 18 month old case is we live in such a brutal country our police force can't keep up :(<br>January to March 2026: 5,181 total murders, averaging 58 to 60 murders per day.<br>October to December 2025: 6,351 total murders, averaging 71 murders per day (nearly three people every hour).<br>July to September 2025: 5,794 total murders, averaging 63 murders per day.

Welcome to the New South Africa. The safe haven for all criminals, especially corrupt politicians. We have a serial killer now. Let's see if the police catch him. That's why we call private home security if something happens or take care of it ourselves. No one's coming to help us. So, we have to help ourselves.

I live in South Africa. Something that I found fascinating , was that night clubs were open on Christmas Eve, especially around that era. Im the town I live in, basically everthing closes 5pm / 6pm om Christmas Eve and only a hand full of stores (bigger grocery stores chains) might be open for a short period on Christmas day. It was just interesting to hear how different other countries are, or maybe it's just the town I'm from. But where I grew up and where I stay now, was basically the same about all stores and places being closed.
