  Also, have seen news reports that foreigners are going into Kenya and working with fraud local lawyers, real estate agents, land owner , to siphon your money and they disappear.

  I have a relative who has recommended a plot in a gated community called Golden Pearl. As a diaspora person living in the US, I don’t know much about gated communities as they seem to be popping up everywhere. Is that a good investment?

  Before releasing money that is in your hand, be very careful, make sure you are comfortable,  ask all questions that need to be asked and consult experts in that area, even before you spot the property you want to buy. Better you delay and gather enogh information,  nobody should rush you in making payment....let the process be clear and predictable,  let the seller understand your terms and conditions just as he/she does.
