Even Bradley needs additional inch of steel plate between ERA brick and armor itself to not get harmed in the process.

20:00 Interestingly on the T-84´s Duplet-ERA the hit box of the tiles is much smaller in relation to the visual model size compared to Russian ERA (where the visual size and the hit box are basically identical). This creates a similar effect to the phenomenon described here, where you can shoot between two ERA-blocks to bypass their protection.

Funny how they seem to only remember that this is a thing when it is a Ukrainian tank and not a Russian one...
Edit: spelling

War thunder just needs to add an impact angle modifier to heavy ERA, so impacts close to 90° get only the plate thickness reduction. I know some things about how war thunder code works (i make custom aircraft mods) and this would not be hard to implement. Theres already an entire system for calculating impact angle for ricochet and shell shatter, so just adding ERA effectiveness on top would be fairly easy.

It would be insane if Gaijin managed to accurately model ERA. Heck if anyone managed to accurately model ERA, even GHPC isn't consistent with damage and that's probably one of the best sims out there.

Love this video honesty, ERA was always kind of weird in my head, I understood the basics of how it dealt with chemical rounds but never really understood how that applied to APFSDS. This helped massively, amazing content as always.

I've finished the German, Russian and US trees. I can say that sometimes the relict bag armor packages will eat DM53 completely without it touching the hull. Not all the time, but enough. And while playing the russia, I have eaten tons of side shots I shouldn't have lmao.

very informative, I enjoy these analysis and educational vids of yours. Also for fun, I'm going to believe this is a continuation of the excellent Russian bias series, but with more data.
