This was one of the best tributes to an iconic speaker and its no-holds-barred designer I've ever encountered ! Well done !!!

Surprisingly, the scope of the "moment" in 1973 was included: subjective audio reviewing, small dedicated manufacturers, and the willingness of audiophiles to sacrifice much for the pursuit of new dimensions in imaging, soundstage and optimal sound sources.

Further, the writer accurately sized up the destructive nature of home theatre to dedicated 2-channel stereo perfectionistic sound systems and the salons that sold them. But even before home theatre came MTV, and the notion that music playback was somehow "incomplete" without distracting visual images !! It became VERY expensive to feed both the demands of a super stereo AND a home theatre.

I had a pair in the mid 70’s, drive by a Dynaco 400. Nowadays you can see lots of open baffle speakers which are also awesome.

Video is too long, too many unrelated photos, just tell the speaker story along with its variations.
