Probably the unnamed piece fits in the kettle so you can infuse something like tea, herbal tea etc.

Goes into the kettle mate for brewing tea coffee, infusing with pine needles, green tea.

If all that performs as well as it looks, it will be an absolute steal at that price! I look forward to a follow up review on performance and durability!

The little perforated bowl is for brewing TEA, the Chinese are big tea drinkers, it just has to sit in the water to work. For the price it seems great value, though I will stick with my hard anodised pots and pans and a gas stove (I have quite a few of them) Worthwhile review mate, Cheers

The only problem with thin aluminium is that it's easy to burn things if actually cooking. Simmer ring definitely needed.

My wife bought me one for my 50th birthday, Sold as a HiGear cook out kit, I am now 74 it is still going. However it is lighter /thinner/ softer than a Trangia but I have looked after it . Had to take file to it to make a GO gas adapter to fit it . But it works after all this time though I have scrubbed through the anodised finish. Not as robust as the Trangias in my scout troop but hey great if you look after it.

That's a great looking little cook kit, I have two different Trangia by kits and I absolutely love them. This kid does look very similar and I'm sure that it cooks and very similar ways. Can't go wrong with something if you enjoy it. Enjoy my man.

Yet another great find Mick 👍
be really interesting to see how it performs out in the field.
Maybe forego the kettle and just use the smaller pan to boil water in for better performance
(After all, most of us boil water in pots when camping anyway lol)
