The guide should NEVER risk his/her life for obnoxious customers. And why are some people so entitled and inconsiderate that they don't start the hike at the proper time?

This reminds me of my dad - he was one to always watch. Always thinking, respecting the land. Before the time where every report and map was in a device in our hands, he always kept us safe.

Waverly, Tennessee: mid '60s: Nov. 3<br>The falls in the video look like maybe Fall Creek Falls, Burgess Falls and Lace Falls, all great hikes to take in daylight on a day that's not extremely hot or extremely cold. I've climbed Burgess Fall in the rain. I DO NOT recommend it, I was young, stupid and LUCKY. It also wasn't a State Park at the time so there were no Park Rangers to tell us we were being idiots (unlike when we climbed to and around the bottom of Fall Creek Fall ON ICE- also stupid)

Perhaps if the friend had complained more convincingly about her knee hurting, the "birthday girl" would have considered her friend's wellbeing and agreed to turn back, but it sounds like she was too "high on life" to think of that.
