  The story is worse than that. They ordered 9cr13mov blade blanks from China, re ground them, removed the 9cr13mov and China etchings and re marked them as 154cm, made in USA, they knew exactly what they were doing. When a company or a person loses your trust, their reputation quickly follows. The fact that they have a history of questionable business practices makes this less shocking. The worst part is that no one at BR exposed the scam until they didn't get paid last Friday, they knew and covered for the owner until he couldn't pay them, I find it difficult to have sympathy for any of them, other than the customers who got screwed. Lots of BR collectors are probably having some buyer's remorse right now. I know how they feel I have a worthless collection of Hoback knives to remind me what that feels like. This just plain sucks!

  I once overheard someone at BLADE Show say the reason Mike Stewart never attends is that he has screwed over so many people in the knife industry, he can’t show his face without expecting it to be punched

  What a crappy crazy situation. A big shoutout to all the makers you mentioned. Creely, scrawny lumberjack, and Lt are all solid makers. I have a bunch of LT stuff and its sold and heat treated properly. This shows why we need people like you doing your tests even more.

  As an American knife maker I can promise you that what he said about 5 processes to make it “made in USA” isn’t true. Ben at Knafs actually did a great video on what it takes to be considered “made in USA” and it’s pretty strict.

  This makes me glad I never bought &nbsp;one. I was waiting &nbsp;for the reissue &nbsp;of the Manitou, but that ship has sailed.<br><br>I had been hearing &nbsp;all manner of quality control &nbsp;issues.<br><br>My favorites &nbsp;makers are currently Spyderco, Lucas Forge, &nbsp;Reiff, and White River.<br><br>No issues &nbsp;with any of those.
