  About time we hnad a decent length video of this final. Ann Jones a very underated player. And she was a lovely unassuming person.

  I was 13 ,March 1977 at Luton airport ,the School ski trip to Italian Dolomites ,my teacher, Miss Nichol came over and said &quot;your tennis daft ,whos that ? I borrowed a note book and pen and fanned out for the only time in my life . &quot; excuse me Mrs Jones,can I have youre autograph &quot; She was heavily pregnant ,with a toddler in tow , with my sister in the same condition I wouldnt have blamed her if she d tpld me where to go. She just smiled and said of course you can ,and when I thanked her she said &quot;no ,thank you &quot; .Ive often wondered what she meant ,but for 30 seconds that I know of ,what a class act.

  July 4th 1969. I was 12 years old lying unconscious in &nbsp;Leeds General Infirmary from an horrific road accident I suffered whist walking home from school the day before. I came round the next day, Saturday,😊 and my sport loving grandad sat by my bedside told me Ann had won.
