  Everstones are still arguably a good prize in gen 4 due to its use in breeding mechanics.

  As a Gen II kid, I have very fond memories of me and my brother trying to catch a Scyther (and losing to a Venonat lol). Even as a big Johto fan it&apos;s not often I think of the Bug Catching Contest, but it&apos;s always a nice little thing when playing GSC/HGSS, and the National Park in itself is such a cozy place.<br><br>I really liked your ideas to improve the contest and for new ones too, it&apos;s kind of mind-blowing there&apos;s never been a fishing contest if you think about it. Great vid dude!

  This was a fun watch, thanks for highlighting this lovely place. I just spent 9 months there to find both shiny Pinsir &amp; shiny Scyther, no regrets :) the spelunking contest with wild fossils would be insane

  I can understand why an Everstone could be needed, since it would always be a hassle to have to press B every time your Pokémon you don&apos;t want to evolve, levels up. Just easier to make it hold an Everstone, so you don&apos;t get that annoying Evolution video every time you win a battle and your Pokémon levels up. However, I too don&apos;t get why it&apos;s a 2nd Prize though.

  One thing that makes me livid about this context is the fact that once again they lock the Shiny Stone to the National Dex.<br><br>They seriously did everything in their power to make sure you would not have a Togekiss before beating the league.

  everstones have a 50% chance of passing down the nature of the holder down to it’s offspring when breeding, so if you need one for the daycare then you can get one pretty easily this way.

  Taking inspiration from legend of Zelda twilight princess. It could be a wrangling contest at milktank ranch where your score is calculated based on how many milktank you can catch with the same time and number of balls as the bug contest. With your reward being the same as well. But instead of keeping the last milktank you caught like in the bug contest. You would choose one you captured throughout the contest with the max being 20 as that’s the number of balls you get. Selecting one would give interest to:<br>Shiny hunters<br>Competitive players<br>Dex completion <br>And finally casual players as not only something more to do. But to add a bit so often used pokemon. With the possibility of add a rare taurus after nation dex or maybe dodou line. Since in the anime those are often seen in kanto ranches as well. <br><br>If remakes of heart gold and soulsilver ever get made. Implementing this idea would really spice up the gameplay while still being true to the original game and what made players love it. And just on the slim chance, I would give Nintendo full power over this idea if they will just remake those games again so I can play them 🤣😭
