  As a physician I can't possibly imagine what Civil War docs went through.  Just immense challenges to keep people alive!

  I was a combat medic in Vietnam. Military medicine is a unique branch of the medical field.

  People fail to realize that the rifle ball not only went through the body but also broke bones. The doctors of the time had very little options in how to treat a soldier.

  As a nurse for 25 years, we do take for granted today the developments and medical advances. I am always in awe of the doctors and brand new nursing profession during the Civil War. It is true that war brings medical advances. Sadly. God bless all those that have served, lived and died in service of our great nation.

  Gettysburg was so horrific it explains why at times if your lucky can still hear the battle taking place there. Its more scary then any movie.

  I’ve never seen a pair of socks from the civil war period. They are weaved more finely than I would have imagined.

  I was a soldier in Vietnam! One thing that gave us confidence, was the knowledge that if wounded, we would have a high rate of survival due to the combat medical system! From the heroic combat medics, the unbelievable courage of the medivac pilots and crew, to the Doctors and Nurses that literally saved lives!! 🫡🇺🇸

  A lot of folks who lost a Civil War ancestor can get closure by visiting this museum.

  As a former British army combat medic and nurse of 38 years, I had a large collection of WWI battlefield medical items unfortunately all sold to pay for a divorce.This would be an interesting museum to visit.

  My father was a museum curator. It was dedicated to the North West Mounted Police, the police force created in 1873 to help settle the Canadian frontier.  My great grandfather was one of the original 300 members who made up what today is the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, our national agency.  I grew up hanging around the place, and as such, l absolutely love museums.  Your museum presented here looks amazing.  l love the quality of the diorama on display, and it's evident the passion the staff brings to their museum.  Thank you for giving me a peek at your place, l truly loved every minute of it. BZ!

  I lived in Frederick and went to this Museum. It was so interesting and eye opening.
