My furnace is 1981 with pilot light and direct drive fan. One temp limit switch. one thermocouple and two fan motors only parts needed - chicken feed to fix.

Mine is a Coleman Nat Gas 80% in downflow configuration, installed in 2003. I'm retired HVAC guy. I do my own preseason checks and occasional combustion analysis. The H-X is still ok, I've replaced the circuit board twice, induced draft fan motor once, air circulation fan motor once, and gas valve once. I bought a spare hot plate ignitor years ago as a spare but still using the OEM. The flame sensor is also OEM. The R-22 A-coil rotted out all the way around the bottom in 2017 and began leaking so rather than replace it I pulled it out and installed a separate mini-split system for home AC, but I continue to heat the home with the Coleman. I had to recalculate air flow and reduce the fan speed of course. Later, after the home was better insulated with new siding, low e-glass windows and more fill in the attic. That rendered furnace oversized but I did some thinking. The furnace is located in a confined closet, similar to motor home and that space gets pretty warm with the furnace in operation. I calculated the air density in the closet to be equivalent to 3300 ft above sea-level so I was able to derate the furnace from its original 57000 btu input down to 65000 btu by installing the high-altitude burner orifices. I performed another combustion analysis to realign burner performance. Tonight's OAT may be cause for the furnace's debut run for this season.

Pretty soon people are going to go back to burning wood. Seems the legislators are in tandem with the oil and energy gas and manufacturers, geared to fleece everyone. Even the rules and regulations prevent contractors from testing before replacing. Even my electrician refused to touch my fuse panel because it did not conform to the newest standards forcing me to fix it myself and my plumber took pictures of my furnace while he was replacing my hot water heater and forced me to replace my furnace when it worked perfectly fine as it was tagged out and the gas company would not hook up my utilities without authorization from the plumber. All of this drives me absolutely batshit crazy. Everything is done under the guise of safety. Seems you can't do anything these days without a license or approval
