  I live in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky. Grew up playing in the forest. No matter where I've traveled to. My heart longs to be back home. It's a wonderful mysterious place.

  apple ftitter is a kind of donut.  basically the scraps of sough from between the round donuts are mashed together with apple bits and  cinnamon.  some bake them but most dry then glaze them.   he was wrong,  they were making iron not ore.  ore is the rocks you melt to get the metals out of.

  When I was a young man, I hauled sawdust in semi trucks from the many sawmills in this area to a plant which turned the sawdust into charcoal briquettes for barbecue grilling. It was sold all over the US and still is.

  Charcoal is those little black briquettes that you use in a barbecue grill for cooking outdoors.

  The Red River Gorge isn't too far from the city of Lexington, and we went there a lot when I was growing up, going camping, float trips down the Red River, and yes, we'd go through the Nada tunnel, and being a kid we'd have to honk the car horn all the way to hear the echo. Natural Bridge is up on top of a mountain and is even bigger than sky bridge, you can hike up to the top and walk on top of the arch. The Daniel Boone Nat'l Forest goes all the way from northeastern Kentucky down to the Tennessee border. Cumberland Falls State Park near Corbin is also part of the Daniel Boone National Forest, just a scenic 30 minute drive thru the forest from Interstate 75. Cumberland Falls is called the Niagara of the South and is the 2nd largest falls east of the Rockies. So much to see in Kentucky, and you've only scratched the surface!

  charcoal is the byproduct of the wood under high heat, usually by furnace. It is high in carbon which helps produce a strong form of steel

  Boone is a great place to off-road. Especially all the single track and there is some really difficult Enduro riding to be had. I'm Getting old so I'm building another trail rig to explore like this guy. 😊
