The Red Sox players said, after they won the Series in 2004, Jeter congratulated every one of them.  He’s a classy guy and great player!

To be honored by his team’s arch rival says it all about Jeter. Class displayed by the Red Sox.

This, this right here, is why Jeter belongs in the Hall of Fame. To get a cheering crowd in Fenway, as a Yankee, only speaks to the magnitude of Jeter's character. He is what every ball player should aspire to be

Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera... two Yankees who carried themselves with such class that even Red Sox fans had to admire them in the end.  Rivera's smiling, hilarious tip of the cap to the mock cheers is still one of the coolest displays of good humor and class that I've ever seen.

Red Sox fan. I bought "secondary market " tickets for this game knowing it was Jeter's last. A few days before, in his last game at Yankee Stadium, Jeter had the game winning RBI. POst game, an interviewer sked him if he would sit the last weekend at Fenway so that would be his last at bat. I'm paraphrasing, but Jeter said something to the effect that he knew that a lot of people had bought tickets for that last game and he would not let them down. Again Red Sox fan here, but that guy is awesome

Being a Yankee fan, I have to admit I think this tribute was as good as the one he received in the Bronx.  When Peter Frates comes out it's hard not to get emotional.  Derek Jeter is a living a legend.
