And there's the reason Europe never knew peace: everyone wanted to be its biggest ever.

5:19 as the byelorussian ssr was even recognized by the un, you could argue that their biggest official extent was from 1939-1946 while they still controlled bialystock

From my point of view, Moldova is just another form of Romania. Like the original Angevin/Plantagenet empire, mentioned here in the big version of England... In reality, the sovereigns of this Empire were the French Dukes of Normandy and Anjou (=Angevin): one could in the same way consider that the Angevin Empire, which also included the Kingdom of England, was just another form of France. I know, it seems strange in hindsight to consider England as just a French province, but if we put it in the context of the time, that's kind of what it was! and there is a legacy of it: the English language is very influenced by French, it's been since that time.

18:48 for Slovenia many people consider Carantania its ancestor. While not located on the exactly same terytory it is the only free slavic region from the early middle ages. It also holds a great historical imporatnce for Slovenia.

Vatican's kinda missing, that's the last remaining atom of the Papal States which at their peak held central Italy with a strip up to Bologna and some land around Avignon. They were fully annexed into unified Italy in 1870 until Vatican City was granted its current status in 1929.
