  As someone who can speak Swedish, English and German and has heard Dutch, this language messes with my head. It is like they are speaking all and none of the languages at the same time.

  I am so excited to show this to my 81 year old mother. She still speaks Frisian. I grew up only hearing Frisian from grandparents. I love this.

  So afrikaans is a language which has a mix of dutch, german and other european languages and I am suprised as to how much I could understand this as Afrikaans is my second language

  I love how patient everyone gets when they hear you trying and it actually sounds pretty decent. You can tell people love when foreigners can speak the native language it shows they care.

  This is crazy! I speak completely native English (I’m American) and relatively fluent German (been studying it for about 7 years now) and this language sound so much like the both of them, it’s truly incredible and utterly fascinating.

  As someone from Fryslân i have to bust the title. All the cities and villages in Fryslân has Frisian speakers. In Leeuwarden they have the dialect of Leeuwarden or Liwwadders. Which is a combination of Frisian and Dutch. Leeuwarden is a proud city where they &quot;try&quot; to be different then Friesland even though it is the capital city. There are many different dialects in the Frisian language with every city a different dialect. Even different regions have a different way of speaking. For example for Saturday there is &quot;sneon&quot; and &quot;saterdei&quot;. But i love that you put our language in the picture! Thank you!

  As someone who speaks Icelandic, Danish, Norwegian and English + Understand some German - this sounds like &nbsp;a crazy mix of all of them with a big splash of Dutch haha
