  I still have my Shindy 488 from 2009. Still runs great and has always been my all rounder and first pickup for any job around the property including felling 👍

  My Old Dad got caught by kickback. After a 30-year stint in the bush falling and coming from a family of bushmen/sawmillers, he retired from the bush and went boatbuilding. When out getting firewood running a 1975 stihl 041av, which I still have, pre chain brake it kicked back and caught him in the neck. It missed everything important, including the jugular vein by 1/16th of an inch, and stopped when it hit the brestbone! It only takes but a microsecond of inattention for IT to get you. The saw is a MONSTER for  mid sized saw. It does need a new muffler but it has heaps of compression and is still like new! This is a great series of videos, that teach a lot....if you want to learn.   My grandpa used to run a little chainsaw repair shop called Barrie’s Chainsaw Repair in White Oak, WV. He swore by Shindaiwa, and spoke highly of them. He would’ve freaking loved you man. This was an amazing watch. Thank you for the trip down memory lane.

  BUCKIN : i had thee most back leaning , dog legged and contorted 70ft pine going right for the neighbors house on this job today and if i hadnt studied ever little tip you have gave away im telling you , over the shoulder through the house . BACKCUT first , built the stump with wedges , had a rope in it pretension. got its center over , and chased the back cut with a thicker hinge on my high side to keep it from rolling off too early and right in the hole she went  and stayed on the stump to the ground>!  Thats in part to your videos and i thank you

  I owne one. I took it in on trade 30 years ago and cut tons of wood with it. Awesome performer of my 7 saws. Good choice.
