Those SOE agents were incredibly courageous men and women who knew exactly what their horrendous fate would be if captured by the Germans and handed over to the Gestapo. It takes a special kind of person to volunteer for such work and we are all in debt to those brave agents. ❤❤❤

The irony was that when Britain was left without rifles post-Dunkerque, they developed something far more destructive - Sten sub-machine guns. It took a bit of kitbashing but it was lethal enough to be used all across the world for the next 2 decades post-WW2.
