  The lack of warning kind of makes this song better. Nobody expects how good it is (or the monologue before it), which is kind of the entirety of Constance's character. Just there, sitting in the background, nobody expecting much from her. Until this hits you with a bag of bricks.

  In our defense... I'd bet half of us are so distracted even in our own rewatches by The Ballad of Jane Doe, Sugar Cloud hits us just as out of the blue. every. single. time

  “There’s nothing wrong with being the nicest girl in town” literally punched me in the gut and made me cry when I revisited the musical, same with all of Constance’s monologue. Also I may be wrong, but I feel like sugar cloud is so underrated; I don’t think other songs are necessarily worse than it, I think people just don’t talk about it enough. Anyway, cannot wait to see the reaction.

  The Ballad of Jane Doe should by all means be the song that ends this musical. It should be that high note that blows you out of the water.<br><br>And yet here comes constance. Without any tricks. Without any costume or lights or machines. And she <b>still</b> absolutely steals the spotlight.

  I think it&apos;s worth noticing that this song has the least amount of organization in the choreography, like everyone is actually free to dance how they want. It&apos;s pretty rad :)

  And Constance! Her moral is quite…bittersweet. But it makes sense. And the reason why the choreography is more messy is because Karnak doesn’t need to control them, they are genuinely having that much fun. And because Mischa and Noel are probably tipsy-

  When I played Karnak, I interpreted that in every prior number, he&apos;s choreographing the rest of the choir&apos;s movements, controlling them so they can tell the singer&apos;s story. In &quot;Sugar Cloud,&quot; though? He&apos;s leaving it all up to them.
