American here. Without a doubt, we partnered with some unsavory characters during the Cold War. Friederike wasn't anywhere near the worst. I don't know whether she ever met Senator Joe McCarthy, but I imagine they'd have gotten along swimmingly. The business about the "Queen's camps" is pretty chilling. During the Argentine "Dirty War," junta supporters were known to adopt the children of "desaparecidos" and raise them without telling them what had become of their parents, but there's something especially inhumane about stealing and indoctrinating kids whose parents are still alive.

Queen Frediriki had three children and she brought them up as Greeks with no nazi influence at all. She also did a lot of good for the Greeks. Opened many orphanages. Educated the poor and gave marriage doweries to young women who were orphans. She was not the monster described in this video. She was portrayed as a monster for political reasons yes.

Yet her Mother [RIP] was surely the most beautiful of all in her young years.

Frederica in Greek is 'Frideriki'. Her most common nickname was 'Friki', which in Greek means 'horror'.

As far as I understand, Sofía was in love of Jose Carlos. Even she managed to invite him to many parties and try to be near him, so…

No, styling herself as Queen Frederica after her husband's death was normal protocol: I don't believe she tried to style herself as THE Queen, during her widowhood -- especially after her son married.

King Pavlos, on the contary, was well respected and loved by the Hellenes. He also was a senior officer during the war, fighting on the front line for Hellas...........

For those who have a nostalgic view of Fredericka's reign like Arthur Roumbos' post I have some swamp land in Siberia to sell you too. Her daughter Princess Irene fell in love with a very wealthy man but way down on the totem pole in relation to the royal family so Fredericka ended their relationship. My uncle was jailed and castrated for protesting against her removing the equivalent of over a million dollars from Parliament to GIVE to the future king of Spain as a dowry for their impending marriage. Greece had still not recovered from the war and unlike many European countries didn't receive reparations from Germany. As a child visiting Greece in the 70s my grandmother still didn't have indoor plumbing. We urinated outside with the chickens. This video mentioned Fredericka demanding money from Marshall of the Marshall plan. Please read the book The Polk Conspiracy by Kati Marton. Polk was the news correspondent for CBS and a descendant of President Polk. He was a Republican. He was also an OBJECTIVE journalist. During Greece s civil war Polk wanted to interview BOTH of those fighting ( usually only the ones at the top give us their " truth"and after interviewing the Communists Mr Polks dead body was found in Thessaloniki Bay. Mr Polk was about to spill the beans that the Royalists ( the monarchs and their ENABLERS) were STEALING the money intended to go to the people of Greece who were starving ( Marshall plan, Truman Doctrine) and so that they wouldn't embrace communism. An innocent man went to jail for Polks murder because he was a member of the communist party. George Polks brother who died just s few years ago at over 100 INSISTED that this man was innocent and asked ," why would a communist kill the only journalist willing to hear their side of the story?". Mr Polks widow was in fear for her life and fled to the USA. I believe she was on the TV show 60 minutes in the 80s. There is a sham award by CBS given to journalists who are in danger getting their story. The bio states that Polk was killed by communists. They are WRONG. Also the Greek Orthodox Church ALLOWED a then 21 year old prince Charles to go to a Greek Orthodox church in Athens and baptize king Constantine's first born son Pavlo's ( Paul). In the 70s Queen Elizabeth entered the Saint Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church in London and was the godmother to king Constantine's youngest daughter. Queen Elizabeth and now king Charles are/ were not only Protestants but as head monarchs they were the head of the Anglican church. The role of a godparent in the Greek Orthodox Church is to guide the child baptized through the Greek Orthodox faith. This isn't possible if they are heretic Protestants. The Greek Orthodox Church like the Roman Catholic Church are PRO monarchists which is against the teachings of Jesus Christ. The MONARCHIAL MOOCHERS and the churches are like a KHOLOS and VRAKI.
