If HOA dues are late then the HOA puts a lien on the property. And I guarantee they won't let that sit without payments for two years.

It is no one in that gross "family's" business what Sarah does with HER property, that she paid for. So not surprising that the fraud "sister" collected deposits from other people and she was in big trouble. Also not surprising that the enabling "parents" would blame Sarah for the fraud "sister" facing consequences. Sarah was better off without those awful people.

FWIW, I think Ashley deserved jail time. The parents need to stop trying to make the consequences for her crimes “go away.” She will never learn if they persist. Some people never learn if it doesn’t seriously hurt.<br><br>Expecting the OP to help with her penalties and restitution is beyond insane of the parents. Ashley must definitely be the Golden Sister — the irresponsible one who never grew up.

I would have immediately filed charges and prosecuted them! Even if OP was delinquent on HOA dues, the sister would still NOT have ANY right to list the house, nor would it excuse Identity theft or fraud.
