  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F37UnDaWMNI&amp;t=2063">34:23</a> as someone who actually fell down(and then scraped and crawed back out) of this pipeline a few years ago, absolutely not. Not even a little bit. Nobody i knew who agreed with me was “genuinely curious about the world around us”. The pipeline existed to reinforce and bring to the front ideas I already had, but didnt really put much into. It was purely, and entirely a process fueled by things I wanted to belive or already did believe. There is a slow process of pulling you deeper with slightly more and more outrageous ideas, but for one to not immediately question such ideas you have to already believe them partially. Not a single person i interacted with on my journey down was different. We all wanted an excuse to say the things we knew we shouldn’t(its just a word), or to place blame on someone else for my own failings, or to find a culprit for why I just wasnt quite happy with the way things were. It wasnt born out of curiosity, but out of a desire to have someone confirm my bias point me in a direction and set that anger/discontent loose. The only way out is to realize that you dont live in reality which thank fucking god my parents helped me do. But to give these people the benefit of the doubt is dangerously naive.
