Her father sounds like a horrific, vile, predatory, sadistic malignant narcissist.
Imagine having that creature as a father... Poor woman. 😢

Many years ago, I read her biography, "Edie" . Fuzzy was told his wife should not try to have children or no more children after the first one was born. He immediately set about producing several more. Classic, monstrous, Fuzzy Sedgwick stuff. I hope he and Andy Worhal are in some dank, grey, cold place. Alone with just one another. Excellent, Chester!!

Poor Edie she was a tortured soul. No matter what she was feeling she always managed a smile for the camera.

 Thank you, Chester!
A very sensitive handling of Edie’s story. She never had a chance, used by men from the age of 7.
One day I hope the cult of Andy Warhol will evaporate & people will understand that he was a total jerk, a user, a selfish bastard. All the soup cans in all the world won’t change facts.
Good job, my friend! ❤

And the worst of it is that in some circles, she was known as "Seedy Edie." Nice.
Life dealt her some completely awful cards, and her personality was so constituted that for a long time, she didn't even realize it. Who knows what would've happened to her, or what she might've done, if she hadn't made the anti-common sense mistake with barbs and booze...heartbreaking all around.

Nice one! Fascinating young lady, who endured so much sh8, yet radiates even today.

Wow, you captured a woman I knew so little about--even after I researched Edie for an unpublished comics profile I wrote in 2001. I read the Stein/Plimpton bio EDIE, the WARHOL DIARIES, and everything I could dig up in the library's magazine files, but I couldn't get a grip on the real Edie. She was a cypher to me, a being so inscrutable that she shone without having an albedo. I wrote it with no dialogue from her, only the comments of acquaintances watching her ascend and crash and try to fly again. Now, I feel badly for giving her such short shrift. Thanks for this, Love.
