Such a delight to be accompanied in this tour by the head gardener of the place. Imagine (selfishly) walking alone, no matter the season, with him and listening to his love and care for the garden, taking time to appreciate the plantation, walls, building, open perspectives etc

Sissinghurst is living proof of what money can do! They had the money to create this, long, long before the National Trust got involved. What a joy it must have been to live here. I have always called it an English cottage garden on a grand scale.

I agree with everyone saying it’s a lovely tour, and will add it’s so nice to hear birds singing in the background as well. Gives a sense of place.

Getting your rose stems horizontal is the best way to get more blooms. It’s one of the iconic English gardens and still looks incredible.

I had the pleasure of meeting Troy when he came to give a lecture in Atlanta a couple of years ago. What a delightful person. Very knowledgeable too. Sissinghurst is one of my favorite places on earth. I have been obsessed with it since I visited the first time 30 years ago.
