  In 2005 I was a freshman at college and we had a House of the Dead 2 arcade machine in one of the on-campus restaruants. About 2 months into freshman year I noticed one of the guys on my floor playing it, and that he was really good, he was on the final boss which I'd never seen before. When the credits rolled I saw he already had all 10 of the high scores. He offered to take me through the game. What followed was the most surreal arcade game experience of my entire life. He called out every enemy perfectly before it happened throughout every single screen in the entire game (two from the top, then 1 from the left with a knife, then 2 from the top and 2 from the right....etc) and then eliminated them with perfect accuracy. We beat the game with ease, only needing 1 or 2 continues (I did anyway, he barely ever got hit), with only very occasional contributions from me. If I ever played 2 on 2 basketball and my teammate was Michael Jordan, I think that's how it would have felt.

  The House Of The Dead 2 was the perfect sequel and a perfect Light Gun Rail Shooter to have a good time at the Arcades!

  House of the dead 2 was in absolutely every arcade and bowling alley i went to in early 2000s, it was beyond ubiquitous. Seemed way more gorey than the first game and you needed to dismember attacking zombie limbs or you&apos;d definately get hit. Ofcourse i played it to death and gotcthe dreamcast version too. My sisters seemed to enjoy the horror aspect, when they found most arcades boring.

  This is one that&apos;s super easy to find in the wild. HotD2 cabinets are pretty common. I just beat this in a local arcade last year myself. Took 28 credits, but I played the whole thing co-op.

  In 2007 I was a freshman in high school. My father began to leave me at the arcade on days he had custody. His rationale is &quot;I dont want to spend time with you, but if I do something or send you somewhere fun, it&apos;s the same right?&quot; At the time, it was. He gave me 40 dollars, and picked me up at closing time. It was Nickel! Nickel! Arcade in West Covina (rest in peace)<br>Alongside Dance Dance Revolution, this game was the one I played copious amounts of. At 4 nickels per gun, it was a blast, and learning it was something I found a lot of joy in. In just a few weeks I went from needing 2 continues per level and then 4 by the Magician level and the ending level, to one credit per gun and double gunning the game as younger kids watched. I felt so damn cool. <br><br>Thanks for the nostalgia. I&apos;m pretty lucky I found it at a cheaper arcade haha.
