  Fun facts:<br>• Court jesters wore normal clothes; only amateur jesters wore the iconic outfit <br>• Jesters were used in battle to anger the quick tempered enemy and make them break ranks<br>• They were the only ones allowed to mock the king, in fact, they were expected to<br>• Kings would often turn to their jester for advice, as they were the only ones who would tell them when what they were planning was dumb, as they had no fear for losing their head from it<br>• The jester would also have the job of delivering bad news to the king, which was very dangerous

  The Court Jester actually had a lot more power then people realise, they were often close to the King and were among some of the only ones outside of the King’s personal friends and family, that could actually make fun and criticise him, they were even expected to do this and King’s would actually listen to and take advice from them. The only time I’ve seen it portrayed like this was in the Akira Kurosawa film ‘Ran’, amazing film by the way, wherein the old Warlord has effectively a Court Jester, but the Court Jester criticises him and makes fun of him and the Warlord actually takes him seriously.

  I can barely understand anything Fukase sings, so hearing &quot;you are human, you are dying&quot; amongst all the gibberish just really hits me in the guts in the best way.

  this gives off big antihero vibes. in the beginning of the song, the jester seems cruel and selfish, but you slowly start to realize the jester is actually doing it for the greater good in a twisted way
